The Royal Couple, Kate Middleton and Prince Williams, were the guests of honour at the ‘Canada Day Show’ which was part of the national celebrations marking Canada's 144th birthday. More than half a million flag waving people crammed the streets of the city – many having travelled hundreds, if not thousands of miles - just to catch a glimpse of the glamorous newly-weds in temperatures of more than 90F.

The crowd—many dressed in Canada's red and white colors—exploded in prolonged cheering and chants of "Will and Kate, Will and Kate." A few wore homemade crowns in a nod to the royals.

See the royal fans (in Picture above) rush to get a position at the front of the crowd to catch a glance of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge as they arrive at Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
